Three.

It's official:  one of our eggs split.  At my ultrasound this morning there were three heartbeats.

Holy crap, this is WAY more than we bargained for.  I'm still sorting it out.

TRIPLETS.

TRIPLETS.

TRIPLETS.

We always did want three kids, I just never imagined we'd be having them all at once.

  1. Wow! Found your blog (I think thru BC?), we also did an IVF cycle almost same time and are expecting twins. I am overwhelemed with that! (We have a toddler). But congrats!!!! Did you do ISCI? What day transfer?

    1. Thanks, and congratulations on your twins! We did do ICSI - we did our first cycle without it, and had poor fertilization. ICSI was apparently the trick for us because we got GREAT embryos the second time around. We did a 5-day transfer of two hatching blasts, and have three more on ice.

  3. That is awesome! Must be overwhelming but hey, we aren't given anything we can't handle right? I guess that doctor was right when he said your embryos can't get better than what they were that day! Take good care of yourself to help those three little miracles grow nice and strong!

    1. Thanks, Jeanette! I am keeping the "aren't given anything we can't handle" in mind... the way I see it, since we wanted three kids anyway, this is just the most efficient way to do it, haha! Should be an exciting few years...
